Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO)
- Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO) was established by Provincial legislation to provide deposit insurance for members against loss of all deposits and is administered by an independent board of directors and each banking alternative is required to pay an annual assessment.
- The Fund guarantees members' total deposit and savings account up to $100,000 (except foreign currency accounts).
- All eligible deposits in each RRSP, RRIF, RESP, RDSP and TFSA are fully insured.
- In addition, each trust account is insured separately from any deposits individually owned by the trustee or beneficiary.
- Each joint account is insured separately from any deposits individually owned by the joint depositors.
